Not all areas of the nation are created equal where wind is concerned.  White areas will not produce good wind energy.  Orange is fair, pink is good.

This map of South Dakota shows the wind resource at 50 meters. Click on the image to view a larger version. South Dakota's wind resource map shows one of the highest concentrations of purple and pink in the nation.  In Gregory County, we're mostly purple and red.  This means our potential production is in the Excellent to Outstanding range.

Of course not all terrain will be suitable for wind energy production.  Some areas of Gregory County will not be able to host a wind farm site, but perhaps will host transmission lines.  If you are interested in finding out more about wind energy development in Gregory County, contact us.
