The Gregory County Development Corporation has created a steering committee to help organize and distribute information regarding wind energy development in southern South Dakota.

The concept of a Landowners Associationbegins with a group of land owners in close proximity to one another who have a common interest in identifying a contiguous block of land suitable for commercial wind development.

A survey has been sent to all Gregory County land owners to determine interest so that blocks of land can be established within the survey area.  To date over 300 land owners representing 221,000 acres have indicated an interest in wind energy development.
